BTL Staff Review

The Supra -5 has a balanced feel that makes the jump to a heavier bat easier to manage. We like it for an older, stronger travel-ball hitter preparing for BBCOR who still wants good barrel control. It has plenty of pop and fits a gap or middle-of-the-order hitter who prefers the smoother feel of a two-piece composite.

BTL TipMost 13 year olds playing travel ball are on a -5. That is the right stepping stone before the jump to BBCOR. If your player is heading into 9th grade, get comfortable with the heavier drop now so the transition is not a shock.

Who should consider moving to this -5 model?

Experienced travel-ball hitters preparing for heavier competition bats and who already control a -8 comfortably.

Does the Supra have a stiff or flexible feel?

Its two-piece composite construction and VCX3 connection create more flex and vibration control than a one-piece bat.

Is it intended only for power hitters?

No. Its balanced profile can also suit advanced all-around hitters who want a heavier bat without a strongly end-loaded feel.
