BTL Staff Review

The moving thigh coverage is a big reason to consider this kit, especially for a catcher who works with one knee down. The leg guards bend with the catcher, and the chest padding helps keep blocked balls close. Add washable helmet padding, and you have a complete setup with practical details for a busy season.

What comes in the kit?

An MVP-Pro LT catcher’s helmet, MVP-Pro chest protector, and pair of MVP-Pro leg guards.

What are the adult component sizes?

The Large helmet fits hat sizes 7–7½. The chest protector measures 16½ inches, and the leg guards adjust from 16½ to 17½ inches.

What makes the leg guards useful for a one-knee-down stance?

The hinged knee and moving thigh shield help maintain coverage as the catcher changes position. The shin length is also adjustable.

What’s different about the LT compared with the earlier MVP-Pro kit?

The LT comes with a lighter helmet than the original MVP-Pro, giving the catcher less weight to carry on their head throughout the game. It retains the impact-dispersing padding, extended cage coverage, and removable, washable liner. The kit still includes the MVP-Pro chest protector and hinged, adjustable leg guards, so the main change from the 2026 adult kit is the lighter headgear.

Which pieces are certified?

All-Star identifies the LT helmet as SEI certified to the applicable NOCSAE standard. The MVP-Pro chest protector is SEI certified to the NOCSAE commotio cordis standard. These claims apply to those components, not every item in the kit.
