The AJ99 is closest to an M110, but the barrel is longer and gives you more hitting surface while keeping a balanced swing. The thick handle and traditional knob will feel comfortable to hitters who like having more to hold onto. We like it for gap-to-gap hitters who want control without giving up barrel size.

All wood bats we carry are -3 drop. Sizing follows the same principles as BBCOR. Wood punishes poor bat speed more than any other type — when in doubt, go shorter.

BTL TipIf you are playing travel or high school ball in Arizona, you are going to need a wood bat. Most summer tournaments around here are wood bat only. Wood is also the best training tool in the game — the sweet spot is smaller and mishits are unforgiving, which forces you to be more precise with the barrel and build better mechanics over time.

Does the AJ99 feel End-Loaded?

No. Chandler designed the original AJ99 with a balanced swing despite its long barrel.

How is it different from the AJ99.2?

The original AJ99 has a smaller barrel, longer taper and traditional knob, producing a more balanced feel.
