We like it for middle-of-the-order hitters who prefer a loaded bat but want a smoother feel in their hands. It has plenty of pop and carries through the baseball really well when it’s squared up.

The 2026 Marucci CAT X RCKLESS Hybrid (-3) BBCOR Baseball Bat combines an AZR alloy barrel with a PFX composite handle. Its two-piece construction is intended for hitters who want alloy-barrel response with more vibration management than a traditional one-piece bat.

Marucci’s Outer-Locking System creates a stiff connection between the handle and barrel. This helps the hybrid retain a relatively direct contact response rather than producing the softer sensation associated with more flexible two-piece designs. The PFX handle is tuned to the bat’s weight drop to manage flex, feel, and swing control.

The RCKLESS Hybrid best fits hitters who like the sound and response of alloy but want less sting reaching their hands. Players seeking maximum one-piece feedback may prefer a standard alloy CATX or RCKLESS model, while those wanting the softest feel should compare a full-composite bat.
