The 25BB is a 243-style bat with the large barrel and end-loaded swing power hitters usually look for. The slight flare at the knob gives the bottom hand a comfortable place to sit. It’s a good choice for a middle-of-the-order hitter who wants to feel the barrel and do damage when the ball is squared up.

The Old Hickory Byron Buxton 25BB Steel Pressed Wood Baseball Bat uses a C243-inspired profile with a large barrel and End-Loaded swing. Its extended hitting surface carries plenty of mass through contact for hitters who want a powerful wood-bat feel.

The barrel transitions through a medium taper into a thin handle and slightly flared knob, giving the bottom hand a comfortable connection to the bat. Old Hickory’s Steel Pressed process compresses the wood grain to create a harder hitting surface, and this edition is built from the same model and finish used by Byron Buxton.

All wood bats we carry are -3 drop. Sizing follows the same principles as BBCOR. Wood punishes poor bat speed more than any other type — when in doubt, go shorter.

BTL TipIf you are playing travel or high school ball in Arizona, you are going to need a wood bat. Most summer tournaments around here are wood bat only. Wood is also the best training tool in the game — the sweet spot is smaller and mishits are unforgiving, which forces you to be more precise with the barrel and build better mechanics over time.
