BTL Staff Review

The Icon -8 carries a little more weight in the barrel and is a great fit for a stronger travel-ball hitter. We like it for gap and middle-of-the-order hitters who want more behind the ball while still having good control through the zone. It feels smooth when you make contact and has plenty of pop. This Fest colorway gives it a bold look.

13 5'0"–5'7" 30"–31" -5
BTL TipMost 13 year olds playing travel ball are on a -5. That is the right stepping stone before the jump to BBCOR. If your player is heading into 9th grade, get comfortable with the heavier drop now so the transition is not a shock.
