The Pro H Web is designed with open lacing that lets you track the ball straight through the web while shading your eyes from sun or lights, and it closes down into a deep, secure pocket — exactly the combination outfielders need when they're closing on a gap shot or squaring up under a fly ball at full speed.
It's built from Rawlings' Pro Preferred kip leather, the company's top-of-the-line hide, which gives the glove a dense, structured feel that holds its shape rather than breaking down over a season. BTL take: this is a glove for an outfielder ready to commit to one glove for the long haul. Kip leather is denser than the steerhide Rawlings uses in Heart of the Hide, so plan on a real break-in period of regular catch and fielding work before the pocket is fully set — it's not the pick for a player who needs something field-ready out of the box. In exchange, you get a glove that holds its shape and pocket well beyond a single season.
