The TATIS23 is similar to a 243, with a large barrel and end-loaded swing, but the medium handle and flared knob give you a little more to hold onto. We like it for power hitters who want to feel the barrel and prefer the feel of birch. This Black and Tan colorway gives it a clean professional look.

All wood bats we carry are -3 drop. Sizing follows the same principles as BBCOR. Wood punishes poor bat speed more than any other type — when in doubt, go shorter.

BTL TipIf you are playing travel or high school ball in Arizona, you are going to need a wood bat. Most summer tournaments around here are wood bat only. Wood is also the best training tool in the game — the sweet spot is smaller and mishits are unforgiving, which forces you to be more precise with the barrel and build better mechanics over time.

Is this TATIS23 made from maple or birch?

This Black and Tan Pro Reserve version is made from birch.

How does it swing?

It has an End-Loaded feel with a large barrel and plenty of weight behind the hitting surface.

Does it use the same TATIS23 profile as the maple version?
